Many of our members remember the 'Good Ol' Days" of California living when citizens didn't have to lock their doors,
they could safely walk around any time of the day or night and their kids could go off and play on their own without a care
in the world.
Unfortunately today such a carefree, trusting life is a thing of the past. People don't always know their neighbors,
everyone is working and children are not safe unless they are closely supervised. It is a real shame, but it is reality.
In order to help parents and caregivers provide law enforcement quick and accurate information about their children in
the event of an emergency, Ramona Parlor #109 is distributing FREE Identification Documents and DNA Kits. Visit the Ramona
Museum on any Saturday from 1:00PM-4:00PM and the Museum staff will be happy to record the weight and height of your child,
take a photograph and a full set of fingerprints. You can also pick up a DNA Kit for your freezer.
The ID Document includes information about your child's friends, including their caregiver contact information. Medications,
Dentist and Doctor information, Glasses, Braces, Cell Phone - it's all there. You can start a meaningful dialog with your
child as you carefully fill out their personal information at home.
The information needs to be updated every six months to be useful. Your child's appearance will change and so will their
friends. Remember, the documents are offered totally free, without obligation, as a service to the community.
If you are unable to come into the Museum simply download the ID Document and DNA Instructions below. Make certain that
you take a head and shoulder photo of your child. Place the document in a safe place and hope you never have to use it. As
long as your freezer is working, the DNA Kit should last indefinately. Follow the instructions carefully.
